"We have to get the diving out of the game", the Frenchman told a news conference on Thursday. "It gives you a good pitch to allow you to play the way you want to", said Wenger, who will face Spurs for the 52nd time in his 22 years as Arsenal manager.

The Gunners and Spurs sit sixth and fifth place in the table respectively, with Wenger's side able to close the gap to one point should they record a win.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed football is about "tricking the opponent" following claims his players dived at times during the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Yet Wenger, who also spoke out against Manchester City's England worldwide Raheem Sterling earlier this season, believes it is English players who have become the "masters" of diving. I remember there were tremendous cases here when foreign players did it, but I must say the English players have learnt very quickly and are maybe the masters now.
