Donald Trump Literally Laughed At By World Leaders During United Nations Speech

The drastic difference between those two figures represents the impact of US President Donald Trump's policies towards Iran.

Presiding for the first time over a meeting of the United Nations´ body, Trump denounced the "horrible, one-sided" nuclear deal with Iran that he ditched in May, to the dismay of European allies.

"Regrettably we found that China has been attempting to interfere in our upcoming 2018 election coming up in November against my administration", Mr Trump said.

After Trump, French President Emanuel Macron said that a "serious crisis of confidence" has emerged after US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.

"Trump appears to view relations with other countries in zero-sum, bilateral terms - there should be two parties to agreements, and the United States should get the better of the other country in the deal", he said.

The president warned that his administration would take a "hard look" at its foreign aid budget of more than $40 billion and stop rewarding countries that act against USA interests.

"We are standing up for America and the American people, and we are also standing up for the world", he said.

Trump attempted to drive a wedge between Iran's leadership and its people, days after an attack in southwestern Iran on a military parade killed 25 people and unsettled the country. It is a theocratic regime led by religious leaders that persecutes its LGBT citizens as well as religious minorities. Iran is not among them.

At this point, some murmurs of laughter can be heard in the crowd.

Frequently Iranian missiles bear messages to the effect of "death to Israel".

In addition to controlling the spread of nuclear weapons, Trump, in his remarks on the stated theme of the council's meeting, said, "We must never forget the risk posed by biological and chemical weapons". Trump's trade practices portray an unabashed mercantilism, which, ironically, mirrors the behavior he wishes to punish China for.

The elected Iranian leader said that his government would stay in the 2015 agreement, under which Tehran scaled back its nuclear program in return for sanctions relief.

"The Iran deal was a windfall for Iran's leaders".

Rouhani said Iran will continue working with countries that support the nuclear deal. "We do not wish to increase tensions _ none of the above".

Leftist Bolivian President Evo Morales bluntly declared that "the United States does not care about human rights or justice".
