Second North Korea summit 'quite soon'

Second North Korea summit 'quite soon'

Trump often criticised former US President Barack Obama's approach to foreign affairs and claimed the world was "laughing" at the country under Obama's leadership.

At least that's how it appeared, as numerous diplomats and world leaders in attendance could not refrain from openly laughing at Trump's braggadocio.

President Donald Trump is pictured speaking during his meeting with Colombian President Iván Duque at the United Nations.

He said 'we are standing up for America and for the American people, and we are also standing up for the world'.

In a speech which focused heavily on the Middle East, Trump praised Saudi Arabia and the UAE for their roles in improving regional security and their efforts in assisting those affected by the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Yemen.

President Donald Trump offered a broad condemnation of globalism at the United Nations on Tuesday, telling the worldwide body that the United States would protect its sovereignty and national interests - and that the other countries of the world should do the same.

U.S. President Donald Trump boasted about "the extraordinary progress we've made" in his address to the United Nations General Assembly in NY, but was met with laughter from the audience when he said he had done more than "almost any administration in the history of our country".

"Didn't expect that reaction, but that's OK", Trump said wryly, scoring the loudest response from the crowd of global representatives.

Mr. Trump is set to meet with South Korea's Moon Jae-in later on Monday to discuss North Korea and trade details.

"The United States will not be taken advantage of any longer", he said before criticizing "broken and bad trade deals".

Trump said America's economy is booming like never before and since his election, the United States has added United States dollars 10 trillion in wealth. "They do not respect their neighbors or borders or the sovereign rights of nations".

"It's gotten very good reviews, certainly, and I think it went very well", Trump told reporters of his address.

Alireza Miryousefi, Spokesman for Iran's United Nations mission, told newsmen that Iran has not requested a meeting with Trump.

His second remark received a larger laugh from the assembly as Trump acknowledged the initial laughter.
