Joel Embiid Says He's in Andre Drummond's Head

Sixers’ Ben Simmons listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game in Detroit

Sixers star center Joel Embiid was issued a warning Wednesday for flopping late in the fourth quarter during Philadelphia's overtime loss to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night, the National Basketball Association announced. Drummond responded by referencing Embiid's inability to stay healthy and play in back-to-back games in the past.

The league also rescinded a technical foul issued to Pistons center Andre Drummond on the play in which Embiid flopped.

After he scored, Drummond sort of tossed out a little chicken wing and Embiid tumbled over backwards to draw the technical foul.

The foul had originally been called after Embiid appeared to get slightly tangled up with Drummond after scoring a go-ahead bucket in the paint.

Even after his team lost, Embiid said of Drummond, "I think I own a lot of real estate in his head".

Embiid had just scored to put the Sixers up, 120-118. Glenn Robinson III, acquired as a free agent from IN, did not play after logging 33 minutes combined IN the first two games.

Embiid said all he was doing was just talking and trying to win the game.

He finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in the Sixers' 123-108 loss.

After the game, Embiid gave his thoughts on Drummond, continuing his trash talk towards the Pistons big. He was not available to the media after the game but responded to Embiid on Twitter a few hours later.

Then, down the stretch of regulation, the teams traded the lead six times, with three ties.

Pistons: Thursday they host Cleveland, which will be on a back-to-back after playing host to Brooklyn on Wednesday.
