Meghan Markle matches the Fiji flag in a blue cape dress

Prince Harry greets a competitor at the Invictus Games

The formal occasion marks the end of the pair's first day on the South Pacific island, where they have enjoyed events including an official welcome ceremony and a short private meeting with the President.

School children in uniform and people of all ages lined the streets and waved both British Union Jack and Fijian flags as Prince Harry and Meghan's motorcade drove past.

Additionally during their visit a week ago, Prince Harry and Meghan talked with a lady named Jessica and played with her 5-month-old little girl, Harriet. There are new reports that suggest the Duchess of Sussex is feeling rather sick because of her pregnancy and that's why she has chose to scale back on some of her royal engagements and public appearances in Australia.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have arrived in Fiji, where they were greeted by a Guard of Honour at Nausori Airport.

Queen Elizabeth also visited Suva, Fiji, during her coronation tour in 1953.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now on their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and, most recently, Fiji, where they found a touching way to pay homage to Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, whether they meant to or not.

Their appearance at the Hervey Bay jetty comes after it was revealed over the weekend that Meghan was taking a break from her royal tour of Australia, as her pregnancy "took its toll".

The duchess had opted to rest instead of attending a couple of engagements in Australia, including travelling around the uneven terrain of Fraser Island in Queensland.

"Thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days", Harry told the Sydney Opera House crowd.

Meghan will today embark on her first solo duties of the tour, visiting the British High Commission for morning tea and the Suva Market.
