Cleveland Browns reportedly want to interview Condoleeza Rice for head coach

Browns reportedly want to interview Condoleezza Rice for head coaching job

If reports are to be believed, you could be in for another shock, as National Football League team Cleveland Browns want former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as head coach.

Wait, you haven't heard? She also was one of the first members of the College Football Playoff selection committee, holding a seat from 2013-16.

Francesa, then, probably will like the statement the Browns released on the Rice report.

Since the Browns fired head coach Hue Jackson two weeks ago, there have been several names floated as potential replacements. According to ESPN, the Buffalo Bills, the Oakland Raiders, and the San Francisco 49ers have all recently added women to their coaching staff. The league now has three women in assistant coaching positions, but none in key coordinator roles that would merit consideration as a head coach.

And to top it off, she's a "lifelong" Browns fan who maintains a chummy relationship with the team's owners.

In an interview with the sports media outlet, Browns GM John Dorsey said he was open to hiring a woman as the Brown's next head coach. Earlier this year, she chaired the Commission on College Basketball for the NCAA Commission and helped to craft new scholastic standards for collegiate athletes.

Rice being considered for any head coaching job would be big news.

Even if Rice does not become head coach, ESPN's report claims any interview process could lead to her becoming more involved in the organisation in an official capacity or as a consultant.
