NBC, Fox News, Facebook Pull Trump’s Racist Anti-Immigration Ad

Parscale made no mention of Fox's decision.

A reporter pointed out that "a lot of people" thought "that ad was offensive", and asked what he was trying to achieve with it.

The ad, paid for by the Donald J. Trump for President campaign committee, ran one time during "Sunday Night Football", a high-profile matchup between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers.

After Fox News and NBC pulled a controversial advertisement from President Trump that was widely condemned as racist, Facebook has chose to block the ad from paid distribution.

CNN had to make the decision on Friday when the ad was submitted there.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump tweeted out an ad featuring Luis Bracamontes, an illegal immigrant who is facing the death penalty for the murder of two police officers.

Unsurprisingly, Trump's reelection campaign manager, Brad Parscale, was none too pleased.

CNN said Saturday it refused to show the commercial because its journalists deemed it racist.

CNN dedicated substantial editorial coverage to the longer ad, sometimes showing clips as anchors and chyrons declared it "racist". According to the New York Post, the advertisement "paints a doomsday scenario in which an "invasion" of a few thousand Central America asylum seekers- many of them women and children traveling in a series of caravans - supposedly posed a dire threat to American democracy". While the Jeff Zucker run CNN never aired the ad in it paid slots, it played audio from the Willie Horton redux effort several times as various anchors commented on the clearly distorted material.

"They wanted that caravan and there are those who say that caravan didn't just happen", Trump claimed. It was later revealed that Bracamontes had been released from USA custody by Trump ally and former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. "While the video is allowed to be posted on Facebook, it can not receive paid distribution", a Facebook's spokesperson said in a statement to CNET.

Facebook initially ran the ad but that was an error, company spokesman Andy Stone said, because it violates the company's policy against sensation content.
