Neymar picks up apparent groin injury during Brazil friendly

Brazil's manager Tite changes out Brazil's Neymar during the International friendly soccer match between Brazil and Cameroon at MK Stadium in Milton K

Neymar Ltd's trip to Milton Keynes has ended prematurely as he was forced to limp out of Brazil's friendly with Cameroon after just seven minutes of play.

Following concerns about both stars fitness, PSG have now confirmed that both players have suffered injuries, announcing the news on their official website.

Neymar Jr had to be taken off in the eighth minute of Brazil's friendly against Cameroon at MK Stadium in England.

"They will undergo a 48-hour period of treatment before further evaluation", PSG said in a statement.

"Thank you to everyone who sent messages wishing me a speedy recovery, I don't think it's serious", Neymar wrote on Instagram.

Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar also said it did not appear to be a serious problem.

PSG could be without Neymar for the Ligue 1 clash with Toulouse on Sunday, but will be hoping its talisman is available to face second-placed Liverpool four days later.

"He came off complaining of pain", Lasmar said.

PSG are now third in Group C, a point behind Liverpool, who are joint top with Napoli, making their upcoming clash in eight days' time particularly important.

The 2017 Afcon winning goalkeeper nearly gifted Brazil a second goal when he misjudged the flight of the ball allowing Gabriel Jesus with a clear sight at goal but the Manchester City forward could only hit the base of the post to let Cameroon off the hook.
