Rights group urges Argentina to charge Saudi crown prince at G20

Republican Sen. Mike Lee: ‘Next Congress’ Will Likely ‘Look Into’ Motive Behind Trump’s Decision-Making On Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's plans to build a nuclear power plant will speed up the Kingdom's economic development as it would diversify its over-reliance on crude oil, a Saudi energy expert told Sputnik in an interview on Tuesday. Some burned a Saudi Arabian flag and others brandished saws.

Tunisian journalists on Monday put up a huge banner at their union showing the prince with a chainsaw, which Turkish sources have said was used to dismember Khashoggi in Istanbul.

"The Saudi media will focus on the official reception", Khashan said.

She wouldn't rule out "interaction" with the crown prince during the summit that opens Friday.

The crown prince departed Tunisia on Tuesday evening after a visit of several hours, Al Arabiya television said, and is expected to fly on to a G20 summit in Argentina.

After a week of controversy about the expected visit, Guitouni stated that "the Saudi Crown Prince's visit is an expression of friendliness to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and has nothing to do with oil prices in the worldwide market".

Egypt and Saudi Arabia have been bastions of the entire region.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has been planning to begin building a nuclear power plant with the help of USA technology, but earlier this year, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said that the US was not the only option for the Kingdom when it comes to developing nuclear energy projects.

The crown prince's visit to Cairo is an important step in promoting strategic relations between the two countries.

But many Tunisians are angry over the killing and suspicions of the prince's involvement. "We don't want the money of a regime whose hands are stained with blood".

"At the moment there is no reason not to meet with the crown prince", Cavusoglu said.

Political analyst Youssef Cherif said the protests against Prince Mohammed were a sign that post-revolution Tunisia "is one of the rare Arab countries where one can take such a stand".

A dozen Tunisian non-governmental organizations issued a joint statement saying the visit is aimed at cleaning up Prince Mohammed's image after the Khashoggi death, and denounced "flagrant violations of human rights and repressive practices against freedom of speech" in Saudi Arabia.

"Since March 2015, the Saudi-led coalition has carried out scores of indiscriminate and disproportionate airstrikes on civilians and civilian objects in Yemen, hitting homes, schools, hospitals, markets, and mosques".
