Trump blasts reporter as ‘rude’; CNN calls attacks on press ‘un-American’

WOW! Trump BLOWS UP at Jim Acosta: 'You are a rude, terrible person'

Trump became frustrated with Acosta's antics.

At the press conference, President Trump called Mr Acosta a "rude, awful person" after the reporter challenged his recent assertions about a migrant caravan heading to the U.S. from Central America.

Acosta was stopped by the Secret Service from entering the White House at about 7 pm.

While many reporters joined in defending Acosta, several others were quick to point out that they felt he acted inappropriately, "embarrassing the profession".

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Tuesday seems to have posted a possibly doctored video to justify the White House's decision to suspend the press credentials of CNN reporter Jim Acosta, who sparred with the president and a White House aide at yesterday's news conference. Sarah Silverman wondered. "He lies about them on the daily and is never held accountable".

"I do think they are trying to shut us down, to some extent, inside the White House press corps".

This video is real in the sense that it has not obviously been altered, but it does not capture President Obama's rejecting a reporter for asking a question he didn't like. In her statement announcing Acosta's suspension, she said the White House won't tolerate "a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job".

Twitter users broke down the clip Sanders shared, comparing it with other clips of the incident captured by news cameras, turning it into something akin to 2018's Zapruder film. "We stand by our decision to revoke this individual's hard pass". After Acosta accused Sanders of telling a "lie" about what went down, Sanders tweeted out a video clip showing Acosta clearly pushing the intern's arm down.

Acosta and CNN responded by refuting the claim that he placed his hands on the staffer, using photo evidence as proof. "You run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be higher", Trump said. "Jim Acosta has certainly does that and this is a moments that not just all reporters but all Americans should be really concerned about and stand together against". His statement, "Pardon me, ma'am", is not included in the video Sanders shared.

"This is a test for all of us", Acosta told Cooper later.

Despite obvious footage showing Acosta bringing his hand down on the intern's arm to block her from taking his microphone, CNN is standing by their man and doubling down on their attacks of the president.

"In the current climate, we hope President Trump will stop insulting and denigrating reporters and media outlets, it's making journalists feel unsafe", added Radsch.

"President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration", Sanders said in her statement.

Mr Trump replied: "I consider it an invasion".

The White House's treatment of Acosta drew wide rebuke from press freedom and journalism organizations.
