There is no shortage of great actresses in the latest film by Kelly Reichardt, Certain Women, which premiered at Cannes earlier this year and now comes to the Americas at the New York Film Festival. There is, of course, Michelle Williams, who has starred in two past Reichardt films, Wendy and Lucy and (in my opinion, the stronger, more enticing) Meek’s Cutoff. This marks the first time Reichardt is working with the spectacular veteran Laura Dern, who shines in off-beat auteur fare (though also stands out in the likes of Jurassic Park). Kristen Stewart rounds out the trio of woman star power. I have always appreciated Stewart in the right roles, in the hands of capable directors (such as David Fincher and Olivier Assayas), and this appears to be another great opportunity for her to exercise her skills and demonstrate her tremendous acting capabilities.
You can watch all beautiful, talented ladies below, in the first official trailer for Certain Women.
